Giants Place Reliever Shane Loux On DL, Activate Jose Mijares

The San Francisco Giants have been playing a proverbial game of musical chairs in their bullpen seemingly all season long, which continued after their 4-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night as it was announced that reliever Shane Loux has once again hit the DL with his nagging neck injury, while San Francisco activated waiver-wire addition Jose Mijares to take Loux's spot.

Mijares had posted solid numbers with Kansas City this season before they let him walk, owning a 2.56 ERA in 51 appearances with 8.6 SO/9 and 3.0 BB/9.

As for Loux, he's seen time in just fourteen games this season for the Black and Orange. He's posted an unremarkable ERA of 5.66 with just 3.9 SO/9 and 2.6 BB/9. The right-hander has also seen time in eighteen games down on the farm this season, including one start.
