London Olympics 2012: Kerri Walsh Jennings, Misty May-Treanor Advance To Beach Volleyball Final

Team USA women's beach volleyball duo, Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor, defeated the no. 2 ranked team in the world in China's Xue Chen and Zhang Zi, 22-20, 22-20, to advance to their third consecutive Olympic gold medal game.

The win was especially sweet since Chen and Xi had defeated the American duo three consecutive times prior to the Olympics.

Walsh and May-Treanor are looking to capture their third straight Olympic gold medal. They are already the only duo to repeat as Olympic champions after securing their second gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Walsh Jennings is looking to send her teammate off with a bang. May-Treanor plans on retiring after the Olympic games but Walsh Jennings plans to continue playing.

Even with the duo planning to go their separate ways, their legacy within beach volleyball is already secure and can only grow in respect with another gold medal.

Only one more match to go.
