NASCAR At Pocono 2012 Results: Jeff Gordon Wins Shortened Race Marred By Lightning Strike

All season long, Jeff Gordon has fallen victim to wrecks, tough breaks, mechanical failures and any and all other forms of just plain bad luck. Heading into Sunday's Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway, Gordon knew he absolutely had to pick up a win to maintain any hope of making the cutoff for the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

On Sunday, Gordon managed to pick up that all-important win, as thunderstorms cut the 160-lap race to just 106 laps. Unfortunately for NASCAR and the fans in attendance, the events of the race were marred when lightning struck the parking lot after the race officially ended. Several fans were sent to the hospital and one fan lost their life. Please visit this StoryStream on SB Nation's NASCAR hub to read more about the tragedy.
