Every four years as the Olympics begin, few events are more exciting than the 100m sprint in Track & Field. WIth the world's fastest runners on the same track and less than ten seconds determining a winner, it's always guaranteed to be a great and trilling race.
On Sunday afternoon, Usain Bolt of Jamaica proved once again he is the fastest man in the world. Bolt won the gold medal after finishing his 100 meters in 9.63 seconds, a new olympic record. He did not get off to a great start, but his long legs and cool composure allowed him to glide to victory.
Yohan Blake, who also hails from Jamaica, placed second after finishing in 9.75 seconds. American runner Justin Gatlin claimed a bronze medal after taking third in 9.79. Justin Gay and Ryan Bailey, who are both also from the United States, came in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
