Giants Vs. Cubs, Series Preview: G-Men Head To Wrigley For Last Non-Divisional Matchup Of Season

The San Francisco Giants showed some true grit after battling back to sweep the Astros in their last series, and now head to Wrigley Field for their last non-divisional matchup of the season against the Chicago Cubs.

Chris Volstad (1-9, 6.28) takes on Madison Bumgarner (14-8, 2.93) in game one. First pitch is at 11:20 a.m. Volstad won his first win in his last 24 starts in his last outing, pitching 6.2 scoreless innings against the Rockies. As for Bumgarner, he gave up four runs on seven hits over 6.1 innings on Saturday. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.

Justin Germano (2-4, 5.09) faces Tim Lincecum (7-14, 5.30) on Saturday. Germano allowed allowing five runs over five innings against the Brewers in his last start, while Lincecum gave up three runs on five hits over five innings on Sunday. First pitch is set for 10:05 a.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.

Travis Wood (4-11, 4.71) squares off with Matt Cain (13-5, 2.82) in the finale. Wood lasted seven innings in his last start, giving up three runs along the way, while Cain tossed 7.1 innings of two run ball for another W in his last start. First pitch is at 11:20 a.m. PT with coverage on CSN Bay Area and KNBR 680 AM.
