2012 Barclays: Nick Watney Tied For Lead With Sergio Garcia After Friday's Round

Sacramento native, Fresno State alum, and all around good guy Nick Watney used a strong first day to hold off most challengers, ending the Friday's round of the 2012 Barclay's tied with Sergio Garcia for the lead at 8-under.

Watney went 2-under in the second round after opening the round in second place with a 6-under Thursday round.

Stanford alum Tiger Woods may have trouble as he seeks his third career FedEx Cup championship after apparently injuring his knee and lower back after an awkward swing. Woods still fought through the pain to finish the day 2-under and sits three strokes behind the leaders.

Vijay Singh and Bob Estes had strong showings to end the day overall just one stroke shy of the top spot. Singh went 4-under and Estes went 5-under on the day.

Padraig Harrington entered Friday in the top spot but must've forgotten to have his coffee in the morning as he had one of the worst showings of all the golfers who made the cut, shooting 4-over and to land in 16th place overall.
