U.S. Open 2012 Draw: Sam Querrey Rolls Into Open

Sam Querrey is heading into the U.S. Open with a loaded schedule, but he says he's making up for lost time.

Sam Querrey is coming into the U.S. Open with a loaded schedule, and he's now showing signs of fatigue.

The 25-year old from San Francisco has reached quarterfinals or gone beyond them for five straight weeks leading into the event. This week, it was the Winston-Salem Open where Querrey said he was making up for lost time after a freak injury that caused him to miss all of last summer in recovery.

At the 2012 U.S. Open, the No. 28-ranked player in the world will open against Yen-Nsun Lu of Chinese Taipei and will have to go through No. 23 Florian Mayer of Germany to reach the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam event.

Other notable draws include potential matchups of Roger Federer and Andy Murray in the semifinals. Federer comes in as the top seed while Murray is currently No. 4, and should they advance to that point, it would make for a rematch of the finals at both Wimbledon and the 2012 Olympics.

No. 2 player Novak Djokavic could face No. 4 David Ferrer in the other men's semifinal. Rafael Nadal remains out with a knee problem.

On the women's side, top-seed Victoria Azarenka will face Sam Stosur in the quarterfinals. Four-time major champion Maria Sharapova would potentially face Petra Kvitova, Serena Williams will take on former No. 1 player Caroline Wozniacki and No. 2 Agnieszka Radwanska will match up with No. 6 Angelique Kerber.

Here's a link to all the men's draws and here are the women's draws.
