San Francisco Giants reliever Brad Penny is making his way back from some shoulder soreness that put him on the 15-day DL at the beginning of the month, but is making his way back with the San Jose Giants in a rehab assignment on Thursday.

Penny made his last appearance back on August 13 during the 14-2 drubbing at the hands of the Washington Nationals. He would end up giving up six earned runs over two innings of work before being pulled, and placed on the disabled list the very next day.
Penny has made 15 appearances for the Black and Orange this season, posting a 0-1 record with a 6.86 ERA along with six strikeouts in 12 innings pitched.
