The San Francisco 49ers released their latest depth chart on Wednesday, without many important moves being made up and down the line.
The most noteworthy move in the depth chart came on the defensive line, as Tony Jerod-Eddie has been moved from left defensive end to the nose tackle position behind Isaac Sopoaga and Ian Williams. Jerod-Eddie was undrafted out of Texas A&M this year and has been making his mark on head coach Jim Harbaugh and the rest of his staff. Nevertheless, the defensive line will be a tight race in San Francisco this year.
Here is Niners Nation's David Fucillo with some commentary on the D-line:
The defensive line is going to be an interesting one as it relates to those backups. Last year the team carried Demarcus Dobbs, Ian Williams and Will Tukuafu into the regular season, eventually losing Tukuafu to injured reserve. Those three are back this year, and one has to wonder if all three will make the roster once again.
With most of the starting positions filled on this 49ers squad, the true battles will be for the backup spots. Should be interesting how this all pans out by the regular season.
