San Francisco Giants' First Round Pick Goes To Hospital, Expected To Be OK

The San Francisco Giants organization received a scare on Tuesday night as prospect Chris Stratton was hit in the head with a line drive. Stratton, a right-handed pitcher taken with the first round pick of the 2012 Draft, was taken to a local hospital and underwent tests. He is now resting comfortably and in stable condition, according to reports.

Stratton has been diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms and will spend at least one night under observation. It sounds like he will be OK though, per his father.

No timetable is set on his return. Given that the A-ball season is nearly over, Stratton has likely pitched his final game of the season. All things considered, he and the Giants have to feel very fortunate nothing more than a possible concussion came from the incident.
