Perrish Cox Won't Be Suspended For Sexual Assault Case, According To Report

A league source said that San Francisco 49ers CB Perrish Cox will not be disciplined in relation to a sexual assault case against Cox in 2010. Cox was signed by the 49ers after being found not guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in his apartment while with the Denver Broncos in 2010.

Cox was out of football for the entire 2011 season while defending himself against these charges, but has fit in nicely since signing with San Francisco. Cox has been playing with the second unit and will see significant time on the field in three- and four-receiver sets. In Friday's preseason opener, Cox got the 49ers' only interception of the game.

The woman has filed a civil suit against Cox that is still pending. If Cox is found liable in civil court, the NFL could still go back and decide to hand out a suspension.
