Stanford's Chase Thomas and Stepfan Taylor were listed among the honorable mentions on SB Nation's Preseason All-Americans list at their respective positions. Thomas, a linebacker, and Taylor, a running back, are two of the returning stars on the first team to follow the highly successful Andrew Luck regime.
Thomas is a monster on the outside. He was a Sporting News All-American and All-Pac 12 first team selection as a junior last season after recording 52 tackles, 8.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss.
Taylor is looking to build upon a strong junior season that saw his Pac-12 and national stature grow. After securing a second team All-Pac 12 selection following a season where he collected 1,330 yards on 242 carries, Taylor is a strong candidate for the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back.
Both players will look to keep Stanford on the national scene post-Luck.
