It was perhaps the most inane and boring preseason game in years, with the Raiders losing 3-0 to the visiting Dallas Cowboys. The good news out of the game is that only the notable injury was to center Stefen Wisniewski, who left early with a calf injury.
The game was full of mistakes, for both teams as well as the officials, but the Raiders walked away feeling relatively positive after their first game under new coach Dennis Allen.
"I think there's obviously some positives in the game." Said Allen. "I thought our first-team defense played exceptionally well. I was very pleased with the way that Darren McFadden played there in the first quarter. So there's some positives about it. We got a lot of young guys a lot of reps. But at the end of the day, the execution's not where it needs to be, and we've gotta be better."
The Raiders still had several players miss the game with injuries, including Shane Lechler (knee), Taiwan Jones (hamstring), Mike Goodson (neck), Zach Hurd (head), and Brandon Myers (shoulder).
