Athletics Vs. White Sox Final Score: Oakland Strikes Out 13 Times In 7-3 Loss

The Oakland Athletics have been proving to everyone that they're a strong team, but boy, do they ever strike out a lot. The A's ran into a big inning against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday and ended up taking a 7-3 loss against lefty Chris Sale. With the loss, the A's also dropped the three-game series to Chicago.

Adam Dunn hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning to get the White Sox on the board. The A's tied things up in the top of the sixth inning with a solo home run from Jonny Gomes, but the 1-1 deadlock didn't last long.

In the bottom of the sixth, Oakland starter Bartolo Colon gave up five quick runs on an A.J. Pierzynski homer and RBI singles from Dewayne Wise and Gordon Beckham. Adam Rosales hit another solo homer in the seventh to make it 6-2, but the Sox got that run back in the bottom of the inning on an RBI groundout.

Derek Norris hit one last solo home run for Oakland in the top of the ninth, but that was all that the A's could manage.

Thanks to an Angels loss on Sunday, the A's remain 1.5 games ahead of Los Angeles and in second place in the American League West.
