Olympics Medal Count: United States Leads China Before Final Weekend

The 2012 Olympics have just two days of competition remaining before the torch is passed to the country of Brazil. The United States has shifted from first and second place in the medal standings the past two weeks, but a big day on Friday has propelled them into the top spot for good.

Team USA has now won a total of 94 medals. 41 of them are gold, with 26 being silver and 27 bronze. There are still plenty of medals up for grabs on Saturday and Sunday, as well.

Here is a look at the current top-five in London.

United States - 94; 41 gold, 26 silver, 27 bronze
China - 81; 37 gold, 25 silver, 19 bronze
Russia - 63; 15 gold, 21 silver, 27 bronze
Great Britain - 57; 25 gold, 15 silver, 17 bronze
Germany - 42; 10 gold, 18 silver, 14 bronze
