Olympic Medal Count: Team USA Up To 12 Gold Medals Thanks To Nathan Adrian, Dana Vollmer

The United States and China are caught in a death grip for first place in the overall medal count. Right now China is threatening to run away with the gold medal count. However they could very well be caught up by the United States thanks to their great success in swimming.

Nathan Adrian and Dana Vollmer did their part, as they both were part of swimming finals that saw the United States win gold in the final overall count. Adrian won gold in the men's 100 meter freestyle, Vollmer was part of the relay team in the women's 4 x 200 unit that won gold. The USA figures to use their prowess in the pool to try and catch up with China before they run away with the overall totals in both formats.
