USA Synchronized Diving: Kristian Ipsen Looks To Medal In First Olympics

Diver Kristian Ipsen will be competing in his first Olympics at the tender age of 19. The Clayton, Ca. native and Stanford University student will team up with Troy Dumais as the dominant duo compete in synchronised diving.

Ipsen is quite accomplished for a 19-year-old. He has 20 national titles, 1 world championship silver medal, 1 world cup silver and another junior world title to his name.

Ipsen's youth has always been the story. At age 8, he became the youngest diver to final on all three boards at the Junior National Championships.

Along with Dumais, the two are looked at as a distinct possibility to bring home a medal for the U.S.

Ipsen and Dumais will compete on Aug. 1 in the 3m Sychronised Springboard Final with seven other teams. The event consists of six rounds of dives.
