According to the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Raider's wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey pleaded no guilty to a misdemeanor drunk driving charge on Monday.
Heyward-Bey had a breakout year with the Raiders last year, but was arrested in April after registering a blood alcohol content of 0.12 and 0.13, a ways over the legal limit of 0.08.
As part of his plea, Heyward-Bey has to take three months of DUI classes, will be on probation for three years, and has to pay an undisclosed fine and court costs.
Heyward-Bey's attorney said he had serious issues with the case, but that his defendant didn't want the undue burden of a trial surrounding his upcoming football season. Nolo Contendere (no contest) pleas are neither and admission of innocence or of guilt, but they carry the same immediate affects of a guilty plea.
Heyward-Bey led the Raiders last year with 64 catches for 965 yards.
