UFC 149 Faber Vs. Barao Bonuses: Ryan Jimmo Wins Knockout Of The Night

Saturday night's UFC 149 event from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary was a mixed bag. The preliminary matches that aired on free TV blew the main pay-per-view card out of the water, much to the chagrin of paying customers. While the prelims featured a bevy of exciting knockouts and hard-fought fights, the main card was exceedingly lackluster, particularly with two tedious, low-impact fights before the main event that had the Calgary crowd booing loudly.

In the least shocking bonus announcement of the night, Canadian fighter Ryan Jimmo won Knockout of the Night after winning his UFC debut with a seven-second knockout of Anthony Perosh. The thunderous right hand resulted in a tie for the fastest knockout in UFC history. It also netted Jimmo a $65,000 bonus check for and invaluable buzz with an inevitable highlight-reel moment.

Also picking up $65,000 bonuses were Matt Riddle, who won Submission of the Night for his arm-triangle of Chris Clements and Bryan Caraway and Mitch Gagnon, who took home Fight of the Night honors for their three-round brawl in the prelims.
