2012 British Open Leaderboard: Adam Scott Leading Late In Third Round

Adam Scott has been in striking distance all week at the 2012 British Open, and he finally made his move towards the top on Saturday afternoon. Scott now leads the field at -11 overall, which was aided by a mark of two-under-par through 16 holes.

He holds a lead of four strokes over the field. Graeme McDowell rallied late in the third round to move himself into second place at -7 overall and -3 for the day. Tiger Woods continued to play well and is in third place at -6. After a bogey on two of his first three holes, Woods has recovered nicely and birdied on six, seven and nine.

Tournament leader Brandt Snedeker has apparently crumbled under the pressure of a major, shooting a +4 through 16 holes. He now sits at -6 for the tournament, five strokes back of the leader.

Rory McIlroy continued to struggle, shooting a +3 on Saturday to drop to +5 and out of contention at the Open Championship. Phil Mickelson was cut after a poor showing on Friday.
