Brant Snedeker was not a big name heading into the 2012 British Open, but his fine play through 36 holes has him atop the leaderboard. Snedeker shot a 64 on Friday (-6), moving him to 10-under-par for the tournament. He birdied six of his first 12 holes, and then shot an even par on the final six.
Snedeker currently leads Adam Scott, who is in second place at -9, and Tiger Woods, who sits in third at -6. Scott and Woods both shot a 67 on Friday.
Among the more notable players in the field, Rory McIlroy shot +5 on Friday to drop him to two-over-par through 36 holes. Phil Mickelson continued to struggle in majors, and his tournament ended after he missed the cut at +11. It appears we may be seeing the end of Lefty's phenomenal career.
