NHL Draft 2012 Results: Sharks Add Balance During Day Two

The San Jose Sharks added C Tomas Hertl out of the Czech Republic with the no. 17 overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft on Friday. On Saturday, they finished the rest of their draft with five more picks.

In the second round with the no. 55 overall pick, the Sharks selected Canadian C Chris Tierney. In the fourth round, the Sharks added Canadian RW Christophe Lalancette with the no. 109 overall pick. In the last three rounds, the Sharks added C Daniel O'Regan (5th round, no. 138, Germany), D Clifford Watson (6th round, no. 168, USA) and D Joakim Ryan (7th round, no. 198, USA).

The Sharks spread the wealth a bit with what positions on the ice they targeted with their picks. Both the offense and the defense were able to add prospects who could possibly help them down the line.
