NASCAR At Michigan 2012 Results: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Wins On Father's Day

Jeff Gordon managed to make some positive progress on Sunday, which has been rare for him so far in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Gordon came in at sixth place at Michigan International Speedway in the Quicken Loans 400. It was Gordon's fourth Top-10 finish of the year, but his achievement was understandably overshadowed by the feel-good NASCAR moment of the year.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. took the checkered flag in a dominant performance to pick up his first win in four years. His last win was also on Father's Day and at Michigan International Speedway, way back in 2008. There had been 143 races for Earnhardt between wins, but his well-known drought is finally at an end. Earnhardt will move into second place in the Sprint Cup standings with the win.
