The 112th U.S. Open got underway early Thursday morning at the Olympic Club, and the scoring is about what it was cracked up to be thus far, difficult. Nevertheless a few players have cracked par early in their first rounds, currently led by Brandon Grace are at 3-under, while a slew of players remain right behind them.
Asdie from Na and Grace, Jason Bohn, Fredrik Jacobsen and Nick Sherwood find themselves under par, though with more than half the field still to tee off and a number of players with half their round left, almost anything can happen.
Tiger Woods has been steady on his front nine, carding a lone bogey on the par-4 14th as well as a birdie on the par-5 17th to currently sitting at even par for he tournament. His playing partners have not fared as well though as Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson have stumbled hard out of the gate, both firing 4-over on their first nine of the tournament.
