2012 U.S. Open Golf: Tiger Woods Headlines Bay Area Field

You have to feel like this is the best possible shot for Tiger Woods to get that next major, that elusive. He's playing the best golf at the right possible time as he comes off a victory at Memorial. Can he carry it to San Francisco in the 2012 US Open?

Here is the schedule for Tiger the first two rounds: He starts off in the headline threesome with Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson on Thursday, and he goes early in the day around 7:33 AM PT, or 10:33 PM ET. Naturally, the Friday round will go a lot later, deep into the afternoon at 1:18 PM PT, or 4:18 PM ET.

There are numerous other Bay Area golfers in this tournament.

James Hahn and Charlie Wi are both from Korea and graduates of Cal, with Hahn still residing in Alameda (Wi is down in Southern California at Porter Ranch. Nick Watney went to Fresno State and was born in Sacramento, Matthew Bettencourt was born in Alameda and is at Modesto Junior College, and Michael Allen was born in San Mateo. Cameron Wilson and Casey Martin both graduated from Stanford, Kevin Chappell was born in Fresno and Jeff Curl comes from Redding.
