On Sunday the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will descend on Talladega Superspeedway for the first time this year. Saturday's Nationwide Series race was intense and heated and many of the drivers will be heading into Sunday's race with something to prove.
Bay Area driver Jeff Gordon will hold pole position for the race and A.J. Allmendinger holds the No. 2 slot, meaning both Bay Area drivers will be right up front as they chase the checkered flag on one of the most famous raceways in the world. Allmendinger has a second-place finish, but neither driver has a win yet this season.Greg Biffle remains the overall leader and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is hot on his heels.
The race will begin at 10:20 a.m. PT on Sunday and will be televised nationally on FOX.
