The Coca-Cola 600 is in the books. The longest race of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series was held on Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway and featured a strong showing by Jeff Gordon, which has become something of a rare occurrence this year.
Jeff Gordon had his second-best finish of the season and only his third Top-10 placing this year, which really speaks to how terrible his year has been for him. Gordon finished in seventh place, although he remains in 22nd place overall in the Sprint Cup points standing.
Kasey Kahne picked up his first win of the year in his 300th career start on Sunday, staying on the terrific turnaround path that Gordon is wishing he can find. The win was Kahne's first since joining Kendrick Motorsports.
