UFC 146 Dos Santos Vs. Mir: No Fight Of The Nght Bonus, Instead Double Bonuses For KO And Submission

Following UFC 146 on Saturday, UFC president Dana White announced -- as he always does -- who will be taking home the bonuses for the evening's highlights.

In an interesting turn of events, there was no Fight of the Night bonus awarded. Instead, the UFC opted to give out two bonuses each for Knockout of the Night and Submission of the Night. This makes a lot of sense, as the same amount of fighters will be getting bonuses, there were great KOs and subs and the few fights that went the distance weren't really that great. In fact, one of the matches -- C.B. Dollaway vs. Jason Miller -- was so bad that White took to Twitter to voice his opinion of it.

All of the bonuses for the evening were worth an additional $70,000 for the fighters. Taking home Submission of the Night honors was Stefan Struve (who may have done significant damage to Lavar Johnson with a flash armbar) and Paul Sass, who locked in a spectacular triangle armbar against Jacob Volkmann.

On the Knockout of the Night end, Dan Hardy got acknowledged for laying out Duane Ludwig and Roy Nelson was deservedly given a bonus for his thunderous right hand that dropped Dave Herman in a moment that was reminiscent of vintage Tank Abbott.
