Jeff Gordon will be looking to put an end to his nightmare season of tough luck and try to begin turning things around on Sunday at the 2012 Coca-Cola 600. The race is the longest of the year in the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and will be held at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the site of last week's All-Star Race.
Gordon did not do as well as he had hoped in qualifying and will be slotted in at the No. 23 position in the starting lineup. Fellow Bay Area driver A.J. Allmendinger fared much better, as he will be No. 11 in the starting grid. Both Allmendinger and Gorden are coming off finishes lower than 30th place in their last points-earning race.
Aric Almirola has just one Top 10 finish this season, but will hold down the pole position in the starting lineup on Sunday.
Sunday's race begins at approximately 3:19 p.m. PT and will be televised nationally on FOX. If you wanted to listen on the radio, you can listen on the Performance Racing Network's Web site. You can also check PRN's site for a list of affiliate stations in your area.
