The 2012 French Open (Roland Garros) begins Sunday, and the Bay Area is represented by Sam Querrey, orginally from San Francisco. The full draw was released Friday, and Querrey will face Janko Tipsarevic in the first round.
This will be Querrey's sixth year in the French Open, with 2011 being the first year he made it out of the first round. He's posted a 7-9 record so far this year and a 152-130 record on his career. This year won't be easy, as Tipsarevic is ranked number eight in singles players.
Other notable draws include Novak Djokobic facing Potito Starace in the first round, with Lleyton Hewitt versus Blaz Kavcic in the same bracket. Andy Roddick will face Nicolas Mahut in the first round, and Roger Federer will meet Tobias Kamke.
In the women's bracket, No. 1 ranked Victoria Azarenka will face Alberta Brianti. Serena Williams will see Virginie Razzano, and their bracket-mate Maria Sharapova will face Alexandra Cadantu.
The full draws are available at the Roland Garros site, the women here and the men here.
