Jeremy Lin Not A Guarantee To Return To Knicks

The restricted free agency of Jeremy Lin will arrive this summer and his return to the New York Knicks, the place of Linsanity and the first team to finally give him a true shot on the NBA-level, isn't necessarily the place he'll return to. ESPN New York's Ian Begley wrote about it recently.

"I don't expect that. We're not anticipating that's going to happen. We don't have assurances of anything," Lin's agent, Roger Montgomery, said in an interview with the New York Post. "I know history shows most restricted free agents go back to their team, but I'm not going to assume anything. We're waiting to see what happens."

Does that open the door to a Lin return to the Golden State Warriors? Not according to SB Nation's Avinash Kunnath. So this leaves Lin in the wind, a restricted wind, but a wind nonetheless. The Knicks can match whatever comes his way, so it truly is a wait-and-see proposition.

The most exciting part is finding out what the market is for his services. He played well for long stretches but he also turns the ball over at a very high rate and has a small sample size to evaluate. But he's proven to be clutch and fearless. Let's see where the market sees him.
