2012 Indy 500 Lineup: Pole Position Holder Ryan Briscoe

J.R. Hildebrand will be trying to win the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 27. He'll have plenty of tough competition, including Marco Andretti, but the man holding the pole position in the famous race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is Australian driver Ryan Briscoe.

This is Briscoe's 11th career pole position. He has six career IndyCar wins, although his last came in 2010. The highest Briscoe has ever finished at the Indy 500 is a fifth-place finish in 2007. This is his first year driving the No. 2 car with a Chevrolet engine. His last five appearances in the Indy 500 have had him running a Honda engine. He finished in 27th place in 2011.

You can find complete information about the next week's worth of events on the official Indy 500 website.
