Saturday brings us the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes, where Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another will look to take another step towards doing what no horse has done since 1978: winning the Triple Crown. Bodemeister, the Kentucky Derby favorite who finished second to I’ll Have Another, is again the favorite. Bodemeister has odds of 7/4, while odds for I’ll Have Another are 5/2.
The horses both drew favorable post positions, with I’ll Have Another at the ninth position and Bodemeister at seventh. That should help both avoid what became of Union Rags, the Derby contender who saw his shot at victory lost in traffic at the rail. Went The Day Well and Creative Cause are other horses to watch at Pimlico, with odds of 6/1 and 7/1 respectively.
Online coverage begins at 4:30pm EDT (1:30pm PDT) at NBC Sports.
