Bay To Breakers 2012: Events, Time And Schedule For The Weekend

The Bay Area's most raucous, riotous and fun footrace finally arrives on Sunday with the 2012 Bay to Breakers.

Registration is required for the annual 12K race, but online registration is now closed. If you still wish to register, you may do so at the Zazzle Greater Body Expo on Saturday, which is free and open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PT. The Expo is located at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, which is at 99 Grove Street in San Francisco.

The race begins on Sunday at 7:00 a.m. PT and runs until approximately noon. Due to the amount of people who turn out every year, the race will be started in waves.

The start area is at the junction of Beale and Howard in the Embarcadero. Bands and all manner of revelry will be the whole way along the course as the runners race uphill through the city, through Golden Gate Park and eventually to the finish line at the Great Highway.

More information on the race, complete with band and festivity information, can always be found on the official Zazzle Bay to Breakers website. You can find road closure and public transportation info here.
