Masters Leaderboard Update: Lee Westwood Remains -5, Rory McIlroy Charging On Friday

Things are starting to tighten up atop the leaderboard during the second round of the 2012 Masters, though Englishman Lee Westwood is holding strong after his first nine on Friday. Nevertheless, he's gaining company around him, only heightening the drama for the upcoming weekend at Augusta National.

Westwood went out in even par for his front nine, though Sweden's Peter Hanson and Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy are making a charge, with Hanson tied at 5-under and McIlroy 4-under after after making four birdies in his first seven holes. Sergio Garcia and Ben Crane find themselves tied with McIlroy, while Jason Dufner and Paul Lawrie are the two players on the course at 3-under.

Phil Mickelson has worked his way back to even par, while Tiger Woods is still yet to tee off, going out as part of the second to last group at 1:42 p.m. ET. Veteran Fred Couples finds himself at 2-under as well, possibly trying to make some magic this weekend.
