Fom a series of vague and intriguing twitter tweets, it's become apparent that the NFL will be announcing the 2012 Preseason schedule Wednesday, at some point. The details are fuzzy, to say the least, but rest assured the NFL will remain in the headlines once again as football-hungry fans will learn which teams to expect at the start of the 2012 season.

NFL to announce week by week preseason schedule (with no specific dates) tomorrow. Only actual dates will be national TV games.

Preseason games are mostly meaningless in terms of a team's overall success in the regular season, but there are always interesting storylines and meaningful plays when it comes to the backup and depth players as they try to make NFL rosters. I personally enjoy the preseason for this reason - it gives you a chance to see some of the young players and rookies in action, and evaluate the bubble guys and veterans trying to stick around for another year.
