Big Sur Marathon 2012: Events, Time And Schedule For The Weekend

The 2012 Big Sur International Marathon takes place on Sunday, April 29. The annual race is in its 26th year and the 26-mile run, as always, will stretch along beautiful Highway One from Big Sur to Carmel.

The main marathon and the Marathon Relay will begin at 6:45 a.m. PT on Sunday, with a course time limit of six hours or less. There is also a 21-mile run, which also begins at 6:45 a.m. PT, but the starting line is five miles north of the full marathon's starting line. The finishing time for the 21-Miler is six hours and 15 minutes or less.

There is also a 10.6 Miler beginning at Rocky Point Restaurant at 7:30 a.m. PT and a 9-Miler walk and run which begins at Rio Road. The start time for the 9-Miler Run is 9:45 a.m. PT and the start time for the 9-Miler Walk is 9:50 a.m. PT.

There is a 5K run and walk that start and end at Marathon Village. Starting time is 7:45 a.m. PT for the 5K run and
7:50 a.m. PT for the 5K walk. If that's not enough for you, there's also a Just Kids 3K at Lover's Point in Pacific Grove, which begins at 8:00 a.m. PT.

It is still possible to register for the 9-Miler and the 5K and 3K events, but the other events are sold out. You can find registration information if you head over to the official website.
