The 2012 Masters field has been finalized, and there are several contenders with Bay Area/Northern California connections. Foremost among them is one Tiger Woods. Tiger just won a tournament, so clearly he has a chance to win this week at Augusta, right? The odds are slim, but don't count out a man who's already collected several green jackets.
(For those wondering what the Bay Area connection is, Woods went to school at Stanford after being born in Southern California in Cypress. Woods currently resides in Jupiter Island, Florida.)
Here are the other golfers that'll be in competition that have Bay Area connections.
- Tom Watson went to school at Stanford as well. He was born in Kansas City and now resides in Stilwell, Kansas. He has two green jackets, back in 1977 and 1981.
- Kevin Chappell went to school at UCLA. He was born in Fresno and resides in Fresno. This is his first Masters appearance.
- Nick Watney went to school at Fresno State. He was born in Sacramento and now lives in Henderson. Watney finished 7th at the 2010 Masters Tournament.
