Long Beach State Vs. UC Davis Score: 49ers In Control At The Half

The Long Beach State 49ers tested themselves early in the season against some of the nations best high major programs and that experience prepared them for an impressive run through the Big West. After winning the league outright with a 15-1 record, Long Beach State headed into the Big West tournament looking to secure the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Through one half of play the 49ers are holding serve and have taking a commanding 20 point lead into the intermission. Long Beach jumped out early and never really let off the gas giving themselves a comfortable cushion as they look to head to the Big West semifinals on Friday.

Long Beach State controlled the the half from a defensive perspective holding UC Davis to just 36% shooting from the field. Offensively the 49ers were paced by senior forward Eugene Phelps who scored 15 points before the intermission.

Senior guard Casper Ware added nine and Long Beach State heads into the half up 41-21.
