The St. Mary's, Calif. Gaels suffered a brutal last-minute defeat on Friday night, toppled by the Purdue Boilermakers. It was far from the only upset in the day, as No. 2 seeds Duke and Missouri also found themselves packing their bags as they prepared to take long flights home well short of the national championship.
Just because the Bay Area is no longer represented in the tournament, you should still do yourself a favor and tune in on Saturday, as the Round of 32 gets started with eight big matchups. There's truly no telling what might happen, especially if Friday's games were any indication.
Saturday's games will feature Thursday's winners duking it out to determine who enters the Sweet 16 as we get one day closer to crowning a national champion.
