The San Francisco Dons had an impressive season in 2011-2012 and earned a bid to the CBI Tournament, but a strong performance from the Washington St. Cougars eliminated USF on Tuesday night by a score of 89-75. The Dons finished the year with a record of 20-14, including a mark of 8-8 in the West Coast Conference.
Michael Williams had a big night and hit five 3-pointers in a 20-point effort. After a disappointing junior year, the soon-to-be senior will look to have a monster campaign in 2012-2013. Cole Dickerson went off for a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Angelo Calolaro hit eight free throws as he scored 15 on the night.
All-Pac-12 big man Brock Motum was just too much for the Dons to handle as he ended with an efficient 24 points and eight rebounds. Reggie Moore added 18 points of his own to contribute for the Cougars. As a team, WSU shot 60.4% from the field and hit 25 of their 28 attempts from the free throw line.
Better luck next season, Dons. Work hard in the offseason and make the 2013 NCAA Tournament next year.
