The Kobalt Tools 400 will take place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday. Jeff Gordon and AJ Allmendinger will both be looking to represent the Bay Area and place well in the race in order to improve their respective standings in the Sprint Cup chase. Sunday's event will be the third race of the 2012 Sprint Cup season. Gordon currently sits in 22nd place overall in the standings, while Allmendinger is 25th.
Neither driver participated in Saturday's Nationwide race, which was won by Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
The race will begin at 12:08 p.m. PDT on Sunday, so hopefully you remembered to set your clocks forward. The telecast can be found on FOX. No rain is expected, which of course is nothing but good news.
