Palo Alto native and current New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin went on ‘The Rise Guys’ on 95.7 The Game to discuss the miraculous week he has been having as a starter for the Knicks, how he felt leaving the Warriors, and even drawing some inspiration for Tim Tebow.
On his current hot streak, did he know he had it in him?
I can’t sit here and say I knew this would happen. It’s something that I’ve been working towards. To have this happen so fast has been miraculous. I’m just so thankful to god and my teammates and the organization for giving me these opportunities. It’s been an unbelievable week.
That’s for sure. As for the W’s, Lin said he didn’t see it coming:
Was he surprised when the Warriors let him go?
My agent and I had zero idea that was going to happen. Obviously it was really tough for me at the time but I just tried to hold on to a lot of the promise that God gave me through the bible to trust and to have joy in our sufferings and to trust in his perfect plan so that’s what I’ve tried my best to do and I’m thankful for how things have turned out.
Lin is a strong man on Faith, and drew some inspiration from another high-profile athlete:
On how Tim Tebow has been in inspiration:
I’ve drawn a lot of inspiration just because he’s a polarizing figure and the things he says in interviews and his approach to the game is just unbelievable and I respect him so much and I actually want to be able to do some of the things he does in terms of the amount of charity work and nonprofit work and the way he impacts people off the field. That is what is most inspiring to me about him.
Now let’s see if Lin can keep up his inspired play.
