Nonito Donaire Hand Injury Update: Filipino Flash Reportedly Did Not Fracture Hand

San Leandro-based boxer Nonito Donaire suffered a hand injury early in his twelve round split decision victory over Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. Fortunately for Donaire, it sounds like the hand injury is not as serious as post-fight pictures might have indicated. According to Donaire's wife, the Filipino Flash does not have any fractures in his left hand. His left hand appeared to have blood coming out of the wrap after the fight.

Assuming there are in fact no fractures, Donaire will take some time to recover as normal, but then should be back in the ring without any unnecessary delays. He is likely to face Jorge Arce in his next fight and that could very well end up on the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley undercard. Donaire continues to pile up wins and belts and a chance to join this Pacquiao PPV would be another big step forward as he looks to improve his profile in the boxing world.
