Bracketology 2012: Saint Mary's Looking At Intriguing NCAA Tournament Seeding

Monday morning means new NCAA basketball tournament bracketology reports following a week of action. Although the AP and Coaches polls are not exactly deal-breakers when it comes to the NCAA tournament, a mid-major climbing the polls can help raise the team's profile in the eyes of the NCAA selection committee. The Saint Mary's Gaels continue to climb the NCAA basketball rankings and it could result in an intriguing high side if they continue winning.

SB Nation and Joe Lunardi both released their latest bracketology reports and they have the Gaels sitting as a number five seed in the tournament. They have settled in to that five to six range as they continue running through the WCC schedule with relative ease. Their next two weeks, however, could make or break their chances at a possible three or four seed. SMC travels to Gonzaga on Thursday, hosts Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount Saturday and the following Thursday, and then travels to potentially undefeated Murray State a week from Saturday in a BracketBusters matchup. If they can claim all four of those games, they will be in prime position for a high seed come March.
