2012 Super Bowl Line And Odds: Patriots Sit As 2 1/2 Point Favorites

The New England Patriots head into Super Bowl XLVI as modest 2 1/2 point favorites over the New York Giants in a rematch of the Giants 24-20 win during the regular season and the Giants 17-14 win in Super Bowl XLII. The line opened at Patriots -3 1/2 but a lot of money has been pouring in on the Giants. Sunday will see Las Vegas casinos rooting for the Patriots to cover.

The folks at Odds Shark have put together a rundown of how each team performed in 2011 when looking at various gambling statistics. Against the spread, the Giants were 8-7-1, while the Patriots were 9-6-1. The Giants went over the over/under total nine times, while the Patriots went over 11 times. This seems like an ideal game for high scoring and the 55 point over/under seems like a decent number.

You can also bet on a variety of team props in the game ranging from who will win the coin toss to who will score first (Giants have slight edge). I think this game will end up as a fairly high scoring affair and will look at points and yardage overs for the most part.
