Santa Clara Vs. San Diego: Broncos Look For First WCC Win

The Santa Clara Broncos travel down to San Diego to face the USD Toreros in hopes of securing their elusive first WCC win. The Broncos are 0-9 in conference, sitting two games back of Pepperdine in the win column. Those two would square off if they remain at the bottom of the standings.

San Diego did not have much trouble with the Broncos up in Santa Clara last month. Johnny Dee scored 26 points in leading the Toreros to a 75-62 victory. Santa Clara got 16 points and six rebounds from Evan Roquemore, but it was not enough to hold off USD.

Santa Clara continues to try and find its way without leading scorer Kevin Foster. The junior is dealing with student discipline issues after getting pulled for a DUI. Freshman guard Denzel Johnson has stepped up in his place as a significant scoring threat for the Broncos. Johnson scored 26 points against San Francisco in his most significant minutes of the season. He followed that up with eight points at Pepperdine and then 18 against Portland. The Broncos will look for him to step up against San Diego.
