Cal offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz flies under the radar compared to top-flight prospects like Matt Kalil of USC and Jonathan Martin of Stanford. Schwartz has played at left tackle for most of his Cal career, but is probably in better shape to be a right tackle at the next level. That would allow him to deal with defensive ends that are stronger but not as speedy and versatile.
Schwartz put up his measurements today. According to WalterFootball, he's listed at 6'5", weighed up at 318 pounds and has a wingspan of 33 1/2". Those are pretty good figures, although they're probably not protoypical of a left tackle. He'd probably be better off on the right side if he fully develops into the player they think he's capable of developing into.
