The Santa Clara Broncos look to end their nine-game losing streak and get their first conference victory as they host the 2-7 Portland Pilots. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU at 7:00pm PT with Mark Neely and Mark Adams getting the call for the World Wide Leader. Santa Clara leads the all-time series 55-27, but the home team has won eight of the last nine meetings in this series.
The Pilots took the first game of this series in Portland to start conference play, winning 84-74 behind a career-high 19 points from Niyi Harrison. Santa Clara got 15 points from Evan Roquemore and 12 points from Kevin Foster. Portland dominated in the first half and cruised to a relatively easy victory.
The Broncos are a five point favorite this time around, even though they will once again be without leading scorer Kevin Foster. The junior guard remains withheld from competition pending the outcome of the student judicial process. Reports indicate the issue in question is an arrest for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI.
