The San Francisco Dons scored their biggest win of the season Saturday evening as they escaped with a 66-65 victory over the No. 24 Gonzaga Bulldogs. It was a wild evening that was capped by Rashad Green's driving basket with 3.3 seconds remaining.
Gonzaga looked like it was ready to run away with things early on as they were too much size for the smaller USF Dons. However, USF switched to a full court press and it took away the Gonzaga size advantage. USF was able to force nearly double the turnovers by the Bulldogs and get some key, easy transition points in the win.
I was fortunate enough to attend the game with two fellow former USF students at Bay Area Sports Guy who joined in the excitement. He remembered to bring his flip cam and got some solid video of the closing seconds including Rashad Green's game-winner (blocked by screaming fans) and then USF students storming the court after the upset.
